Constructor Talks return on 2 October with its 1st event of the new academic year, bringing together researchers and the wider community for a discussion on the rapidly evolving role of autonomous AI agents in scientific discovery.
The upcoming talk, “The AI Scientist in the Wild: What a Hundred-Plus Autonomous Research Agents Teach Us About the Future of Discovery,” will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Andrey Ustyuzhanin, Principal Investigator at Constructor Knowledge Labs, Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at Constructor University Bremen, and Director of AI Research at Constructor Knowledge.
Drawing on a systematic review of more than 100 open-source systems and related publications, the session will explore how autonomous research agents are being used today, the approaches they have in common, their current limitations, and the challenges involved in evaluating AI systems designed to conduct research.
The session will be moderated by Dr. Mariia Snigireva, Managing Director of Constructor Labs, and will include a keynote presentation followed by an open discussion and Q&A.
The event will take place on 2 October, 13:00–14:00 CEST, at the IRC Conference Room, Constructor University, Bremen, with the option to join online. Participation is free of charge and no registration is required. External guests are very welcome.
The talk will be particularly relevant to researchers and PhD students, R&D and innovation leaders, educators, and anyone interested in autonomous research agents, agentic AI, scientific workflows and new forms of human–AI collaboration in research.
